![]() ➡️ Defile Defenses // Bitter Chill // Lifebane Strike: A three-step autoattack chain with improved strike damage and speed. Mesmer Staff autos are a single-loop, but at least it applies Torment and Confusion. Guardian Staff autos are also slow, but at least it's an autochain that ends with a tracking projectile. Spoilers: it's everything but Reaper's Mark that we're scrapping! So let's see what we can keep from it and what we can scrap. So you want each skill to be a "rep" for each of the Necro's ways of play via their utilities: Spectral, Minion, Corruption, and Well spells. So Necro Staff being one slow-ass autoattack, three meh wells and only one good well in Reaper's Mark is.both really bad for aggressive Necro gameplay and not a good representative of Necro as a whole. Like other ingame core Staves, they're designed as sampling platters of what a class with it can do. I rather open these as a discussion with my ideas added in.Īs far as PvE goes, Staff honestly does nothing for me. I've had a lot of ideas for this game, but I've been too scared to share them. ![]() The Cursed Mark stands until they die or are "cured" of the Cursed Marks. As for the Cursed Marks, the dmg is based on stacks and you can only mark up to 3 foes yourself. On skill 5, I was think about curing your own conditions but figured it might be too much. Causing damage and poison to themselves and all of their allies around them. Skill 5 - Cure The Cursed: All those with Cursed Marks will explode with misfortune and disease. Skill 4 - Bone Shard Barrage: Release a hail of bone shards onto foes causing lots of damage and bleeding. Skill 3 - The Fallen's Reach: Send a line of undead arms grasping at foes to damage, cripple, fear and torment them. Skill 2 - Lost Will: Pulse with dark energy which sends foes into a depressive state causing slow and confusion. No longer Marks, but will add Cursed Marks when casted. Some might like it, some may not, I don't. The aoe ground targeting is okay but its also over used on the staff. With the rest of the skills I will just go in order and change them too. Cursed Marks given will show over head on the foe and will be used in skill 5 to add in extra damage. Now to me, the skill is more diverse and I also added/changed Marks into Cursed Marks, a class specific condition which will have a pay off later. Chilling Haze: Send a wave of chilling air and haze towards your foes causing damage and chill. Bone Shards: Send a wave of bone fragments towards your foes to damage and rip into them causing bleed. It can go like this: Soul Wreck: Send a wave of dark energy damaging foes within range and stealing life force. I would say this skill needs a chain, 3 different attacks with each bringing something to the table. It gives life force and is a projectile finisher. So lets start with the staff skill 1, very boring, no chain of attacks, no boons, no conditions. I have 3 Necros and I still never used the staff I have tried all 3 times to make it fit into a build to no avail. Skills 2-5 are technically Marks which only have 1 trait to enhance them, which doesn't bring much to the table either. For example, tagging enemies in events to make sure you get your hits in is a viable use to me. If we could revitalize it what would you do?įor me, the long range and crowd control attacks are the only good things about the staff. This is why I wanted to bring to discussion: Good for long range and aoe attacks, the staff still feels underpowered and uninspired. Also, in my very personal opinion, the scythe shroud that attaches to the staff is lame and ruins some skins for me. In my opinion, the Necro staff has always been boring to me and in regards to how other weapons are constructed, the staff plays it way safe.
